Luncheon featuring Elder Steven E. Snow - Brigham Young and the Dead-Beat Railroads

Elder Steven E. Snow was the speaker at the April 2019 Luncheon event.  Elder Snow's remarks were titled "Brigham Young and the Dead-Beat Railroads"



Elder Steven E. Snow was called to serve as a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in March of 2001. He currently serves as Church Historian and Recorder and is the Executive Director of the Church History Department.  Elder Snow previously has served as a member of the Presidency of the Seventy from 2007 to 2012.  He had supervisory responsibility for the Utah Areas as well as the North America Central Area.  He has previously served as Executive Director of the Priesthood Department and as president of the Africa Southeast Area of the Church.

Prior to his call to serve as a full-time General Authority of the Church, Elder Snow was a senior partner in the Utah law firm of Snow Nuffer. Elder Snow has been actively involved in the support of education, having served as a member and president of his local school board, Chairman of the Utah State Board of Regents, and Chairman of the Western States Commission of Higher Education.

The St. George, Utah native attended Dixie College and earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting at Utah State University and his law degree at Brigham Young University.  

He has served the Church as an Area Seventy in the Fifth Quorum of the Seventy for the Utah South Area. He also served as a bishop, stake president and as mission president of the California San Fernando Mission. As a young man he served as a missionary in the North German Mission. 

Elder Snow and his wife, Phyllis Squire are the parents of four sons.
