Sandra Jolley, Vice Chairwoman of the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom
Sandra Jolley
Sandra Jolley is the vice chairwoman of the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom. Since her 2016 appointment by U.S. Senator Harry Reid, she has traveled extensively to Egypt, Nigeria, Central African Republic, Turkey, Bahrain, Iraq and throughout Europe, meeting with religious minorities, journalists, human rights leaders, government officials and NGOs.

Jolley has advocated extensively for prisoners of conscience. On October 5, 2017, Jolley and fellow commissioner Kristina Arriaga were granted permission by Turkish authorities to visit American cleric Andrew Brunson in Kiraklar maximum-security prison in Izmir, Turkey, the only American delegation to have seen the pastor.
